Welcome to Sano Shots. What's Sano? Sano is an old word I heard growing up surfing. It's slang for something that's cool or sick. Sano evolved to this from the 60's California car culture useage of sano to describe a car that was clean looking. The origin however comes from a Latin phrase, "Mens dana in corpore sano," which translates to, "A sound mind in a sound body" (or at least that's what Urban Dictionary says, so I'm going with it). These are my sano shots.
With a knack for speed and living on the edge from day one, I grew up as an adrenaline junky. As an action sports addict, I love riding motocross, surfing, skating, snowboarding, mountain biking--anything extreme. I have also broken this and that and taken a dirt nap or two…
While recovering from countless crashes, I watched countless films as a kid. This is when I fell in love with filmmaking. Working on short films in high school led me to pursue the formal study of visuals and the art of storytelling at California State University, Long Beach. I have received my degree in Film & Electronic Arts with an emphasis in post-production.
Now, I work at Racer X as their West Coast Editor shooting & editing films, photos, and writing stories for the web and magazine. You can check it out some of my online work with Racer X here. I also work as a freelance photographer, camera operator, cinematographer, director, and editor. I love seeing how stoked people get when they see the shots I get of them. Specializing in shooting events, action sports, portraits, and music videos, you can find me on any given day out shooting. Based out of Southern California and willing to travel. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook.
